Prenatal Care
I offer all state required testing, and as always you are an active participant when deciding what is right for your family. I can gain very valuable information about your health that I share with you from lab work. I run the same standard labs as an Obstetrician will test to find out your blood type, your iron levels, and how well your blood clots. I also recommend other testing such as your Vitamin D and Thyroid levels and a second trimester sonogram to ensure your baby is also a good candidate for an out of hospital delivery.
Postpartum Care
Your postpartum care is all conducted in your home for the first 2 weeks. This ensures proper rest and healing for you and bonding with your baby. I offer all state required Newborn procedures (newborn metabolic screen, hearing screening, vitamin K injection, and erythromycin eye ointment.) Not the Hepatitis B vaccine (this is obtained at your first pediatrician appointment) You also receive breastfeeding education, postpartum depression prevention counseling and nutritional and supplement support.
