About Me

Jacquetta, an Idaho native, started her Midwifery education in Texas shortly after moving there in 2008. She began attending births at a birth center in Killeen, Texas after enrolling in ATMMTP (Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program) and fell in love with Midwifery. After being offered an apprenticeship at a busier practice in Midland, Texas she moved and completed her education. Graduating and passing the North American Registry of Midwives exam Jacquetta became a licensed midwife September 2011. She started at a busy birth center as a first-year midwife gaining experience and falling in love with birth all over again. 

Under the care of her Midwives, Jacquetta was blessed by having a baby of her own at the birth center in 2012. A change of events took her to be near her family in Waco, Texas in 2013 where Jacquetta opened up her own home-birth practice for several years. She was the only homebirth midwife living in Waco at the time. 

Jacquetta moved home, to Idaho, to the Treasure Valley in 2015.

In August 2015 Jacquetta had a quiet homebirth and delivered a healthy baby boy.

In July 2016 she was hired on as a licensed midwife and certified professional Midwife of an Idaho Birth Center. She practiced there for a wonderful year. 

Alas, God wasn’t done. After hearing the need for a homebirth midwifery in the Permian Basin it was clear that she would go back to where her journey began. 

August 2018, she hit the ground running as a Texas Certified Professional Midwife and has been taking clients in the Midland and surrounding area since then.

Braving Birth Services has been serving Midland for 1 year and she is here to stay. 

Jacquetta has been a Midwife for 8 years, attended births both at home and in free standing birth centers. She has practiced under Certified Nurse Midwives, Certified Professional Midwives/ Licenced Midwives. She encourages water birth at home, practices a hands-off, compassionate care, one-on-one provider to client relationship and family focused approach to the birthing process.
